SUNSHINE PLAY FOR (1 - 2 YRS) is a 1 hour and 15 minutes session which combines free play with arts & crafts & music. Since children learn through example and imitation a teacher must be a `hands on`. Equally the attention span is still short at this age, so Sunshine will provide a variety of enjoyable and stimulating activities, which the children are free to join if they choose. If your child is happily playing elsewhere, we will not insist on participation in regular activities. Time enough for rigid schedules when your little one goes off to school!

How does the class look? For the first 15 minutes children play with the toys of their choice, then they are encouraged to experiment with various arts & crafts materials such as: paint, playdough, clay, glue, pieces of coloured paper, fabrics, yarn, sticks, feathers, jewels and many more. (Every week a different theme.) At the end of the class we all sit down to sing kids` favourite nursery songs, shake and rattle all sorts of percussion instruments to the rhythm of the real guitar, jump, dance and... simply have lots of fun! The class finishes with a light snack. Tea, coffee, biscuits (and sometimes home made cakes!) available to carers at all times.

BAKING WORKSHOPS (2 - 3 YRS WITH CARERS, DROP OFF FOR 3 - 5 YRS)
Baking at the age of three? Or even two? Yes! Imagine your little one rubbing butter into flour, mixing, kneading dough, or stamping out funny shapes with cookie cutters.... Yes, it is possible, and in fact, children love it ! Three reasons why you and your child would benefit from Sunshine baking classes are:

• Mixing, sifting, sprinkling, spreading etc. helps with eye - hand co - ordination. There`s nothing better than delicious, healthy, home-made goodies with no preservatives or artificial colourings added. No cleaning up afterwards, we will take care of everything!

Classes are one hour and thirty minutes long. Traditional shortbread biscuits, oat & raisin biscuits, smiley pizza, bread dough animals or scary Halloween cookies are just a few among many kids` favourite sweet or savoury treats. After each class "little chefs" walk away with a recipe and a bag of their cookery master pieces.

Fun, Innovative and Instructive

The Importance of Artistic Creativity:  pride, team work, self-expression, fun, friends, physical co-ordination, imagination, stimulation,opening minds... thinking outside the box and enjoying no rules!

At the beginning of each class we read the children a story and then give them a creative task to help them respond to the story they have heard. Professional artist, Susannah Brough, will assist the children with their task and encourage them to try out new ideas and techniques.

We use creative games, tools, colour mixing etc. Working on different scales and in different media to give your child the time and skills to develop their own imaginative ideas, enthusiasm and creative potential.

Susannah Brough is a full-time local artist who paints murals and furniture and co-ordinates artistic projects with children. Susannah has been painting murals in private homes, schools, hospitals, cinemas, restaurants and bars for over ten years. She has recently widened her portfolio by working on furniture and organising creative workshops for local schools in West Hampstead as well as those further afield: from her home city of Oxford to the furthest reaches of India, where she has worked and travelled.  

Susannah is looking forward to sharing her love of art with the Sunshine children.
